Lab Manager at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
Incoming Clinical Psychology PhD Student Fall 2021
Why I’m Writing This: As I went through my application process I compiled a collection of resources that others recommended to me, I came across in my own searchers, or that I found on twitter (academic twitter is a great asset during the graduate school application process). I found these resources extremely helpful in navigating the application process and hope they can be similar helpful for others as well!
A Note: Every lab and PhD program is different and much of this process I came to understand can come down to chance (e.g., who is taking each year, what grants labs have, what their other graduate students are studying in the lab, what skills you have acquired along the way, etc.) There is only so much that you can control during this process so the goal of this post is to help make the parts you are able to control less stressful! However, there are many ways to be successful in the application process, this post is just what worked for me.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
